I loooove lessons from the Universe-and had one earlier today….
This morning in the park, I thought…”hmm…I haven’t seen a deer for a while…that’d be really cool…”. I glanced over to the area I’ve seen them in before, and looked really hard to see any. Didn’t see a damn thing. Then I thought about all of the little creatures (both “real” from this 3D world, and others like fairies and nature spirits) that are probably peering over at me from behind bushes, and amongst the grass-things that were right there, but I couldn’t see.
I blurred my vision a little (like when you look at those Magic Eye pictures) and sure enough I spotted a deer. She looked directly at me and I knew she saw me too. Yippee! I wanted to play around with communicating with her, so I crouched down and sent out a shit load of gratitude and love. I silently let her know that I would love to see her more closely, that I thought she was beautiful, she was safe, that I wouldn’t eat her, etc). She kept looking right at me and then she started walking towards me-right out into the open area across from where I was sitting. Now, I’m not saying I willed the deer to do anything, but I do think she was responding to the vibes I was sending out.
So, what the heck does spotting Bambi have to do with things?
I think it was a reminder that often what we’re looking for is right in front of us. Problem is, we’re looking at the wrong things. We have to shift our focus and look through what seems to be what we see. In this case, it was bushes, trees, and grass. The deer was there the whole time, but I couldn’t see her because my eyes were only seeing what surrounded her. In our day to day lives, it’s the stress, confusion, fear, and other crap that can seem to make up our reality. The real truth-what we seek (opportunities, ideas, experiences)- is mixed right in along with the other stuff.
How do we find what we’re looking for? Take a breath and and ask the Universe to help you see what you need to see. Keep it light and fun. Think to yourself…”gee…wouldn’t it be cool if……” , and then focus on the joy that experience would bring. Then go about your business, but pay attention. Look beyond your situation and circumstances, and know with full confidence that what you're looking for is right in front of you.
