The energy of “trying” is an icky, murky, lukewarm…eeeww…place to be stuck in.
NOTHING really happens when you’re keeping yourself safe and just “trying” to do things.
Now I’m not talking about trying something new to see if you like it and deciding if it’s something you want to add to your life.
Like trying out new food, a new workout plan, new clothes, etc.
What I’m talking about it is when you KNOW deep down that you should (or shouldn’t) be doing something, but you’re not committing and you’re telling yourself that as long as you’re trying, you’re doing ok.
You’re keeping yourself busy, wasting your energy, and avoiding what you really want.
It’s like treading water. It gets fucking exhausting after a while, but at the end of the day, it gets you nowhere.
Here’s what it looks like….(and yes, I’ve been guilty of one or more of these)
You’ve been trying to eat healthier and get to the gym.
You’ve been trying to find a better job.
You’ve been trying to start your own business.
You’ve been trying to make a relationship “work” even though you both know it’s not meant to be.
Quit trying and just do it. Or admit to yourself that this isn’t something you want and walk away.
You’re not fooling anyone.
If you want something bad enough, make a decision, commit to making it happen, and (thank you Nike) JUST DO IT!
Like I said, I’ve been stuck “trying” to do things plenty of times so I’m calling myself out here too.
But I know what it feels like.
When you’re not fully committed and stuck in the trying phase, it literally sucks the life force out of you. You end up feeling tired and you don’t know why. You’re irritable. You’re frustrated, and your mind is kept busy thinking about this thing that you’re trying to do. What a waste of energy.
Once you make a decision, and commit to making something happen though…THAT’s a powerful place to be in.
You’re clear on what you want, your energy is focused, and even though you might not know every exact step along the way, you’re gonna give it 100%. THEN, if you realize it’s not something you want, at least you know you gave it your all, and you can move on.
We get stuck in the energy of “trying” because it’s safe. It’s boring, but it’s safe.
As long as we’re trying, we don’t have to worry about failing. We don’t have to think about how we might have to change in order to experience what we really want.
Oh, and we don’t have to admit to ourselves how powerful we really are.
We have the ability to create whatever the fuck we want for ourselves. We get to decide how we want to experience this life and as co-creators with the Big U, we have A LOT more control over things than we think. And that can be pretty damn scary, because then we have to own our shit and take responsibility for everything we’ve created in the past (and let’s face it, some of that isn’t so great).
As Marianne Williamson said…… “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure”.
But as long as you’re caught up merely “trying” to do things, you’re not owning your power.
What if you fully stepped into your role as a powerful creator and got what you wanted?
What if all this talk about creating and manifesting the life you want is true?
What if you imagined what you wanted to experience and then actually got to experience it? (let me tell ya, it’d be fucking awesome)
What if you quit trying, decided on what you really wanted, and then made it happen?
